    Dear Dr. Wollman,

Thank you for this very informative program on the flu and getting the vaccine. I have mixed feelings about whether I should get the vaccine, and my question is: I have high blood pressure and take a daily med for
it,and I also have incontinence issues and also take Vesicare to control it.
I have not had the flu during the past 10 years, and would like to know if I should get the shot anyway?

      Greetings Althea,
Thank you for watching our show and participating, in your replies and questions.
Taking the flu vaccine is really an individual decision. There are risks and benefits. The conditions you described would not be a reason to take or avoid the vaccine. If you are in good health, minimal risk of exposure and have a good immune system, I tend to lean away from the vaccine. On the other hand if your exposure level is high and your immune system is low I would lean towards the vaccine. Having a serious discussion with your Primary Care doctor and an even deeper discussion with your Self should give you the correct answer.
      Wishing you Optimal Health
      Glenn
