Hyun Bae
Dr. Hyun Bae is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive microsurgery and the treatment of cervical and lumbar spinal disease. He is a national leader in minimally invasive microsurgery, motion preservation technology, artificial disc replacement and non-fusion technologies.
As a leading researcher in stem cell repair of degenerative disc disease and among the first to use growth factor tissue engineering to treat spinal cord injury, he has published extensively in top journals and presented at national and international meetings.
Dr. Bae was among the first to use growth factor tissue engineering for intervertebral discs, multi-level artificial disc replacement for both the lumbar and cervical spine, and other novel medical devices for dynamic stabilization and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Bae has been the principal investigator on two new devices approved by the FDA for treatment of back pain: the coflex® Interlaminar Stabilization device and the Mobi-C cervical disc replacement. Dr. Bae has written numerous articles based on his research and has presented on the behalf of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
