Katy Fox

Katy Fox, CYT, has been teaching hatha yoga and embodied anatomy in the Bay Area since 2001. At her private studio in San Francisco she offers one-on-one learning and a therapeutic approach. Her teaching is based in her ongoing daily practice and preparation for students, and: in-depth (350/800hr), one-on-one trainings and mentorships in Hatha Yoga, philosophy and back care with Judith Hirt, M.Y. Ed, a two-year certification in Embodied Anatomy with Body Mind Centering founder Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, ongoing studies of the philosophy of BKS Iyengar, the Yoga Sutras, Structural Integration (KMI and Bond) and other contemporary movement disciplines.
In 2012, Katy started We Are Movement, a project that brings body-literacy to public space. She has collaborated with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Studio For Public Spaces at the Exploratorium, the SF Planning Department and MAPP. Having previously earned a BFA at Washington University in St. Louis, Katy applies her artistic sensibility to both yoga and her public work. We Are Movement’s current project is heartsoundscape.com.
