Sharon Hartline

Dr. Sharon Hartline, Professor of Philosophy at Radford University, Radford, VA. She received her B.A. in Philosophy and Theatre Arts from Villanova University, and her Masters and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She taught Philosophy and Bioethics at George Washington University and GWU Medical School. For the last 20 years, she has taught at Radford University in Radford, VA where her courses include ethical theory, applied ethics, professional ethics and bioethics. For the last decade she has served as a consulting member of the Ethics Committee at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Radford, Virginia. In addition, she has provided continuing education for health and human services professionals at Radford University and in the Carilion system. Her research interests lie in the areas of ethical theory, bioethics, and Buddhism.
